I don't know many people who would consider a broken wrist a gift. I learned a lot in the last two weeks about having to take things slowly and ask for help. Today I'm beginning to use a voice-activated wordprocessing tool and am having a good laugh at seeing what I say translated into what's heard. It's called Dragon naturally speaking and it seems to have come a long way since I tried it about 10 years ago.
Patients, no patients, see what I mean... not patients, like sick people but patience like waiting patiently. That's what I'm dealing with. At least that's worth a good chuckle. ;-)
What I like most is that I can tell it to stop and start with simple voice commands like 'go to sleep' and 'wake up'. The microphone is either yellow and laying on its side or green and standing at attention. Sometimes it's fun to be bossy.
I am really happy to have reached the two week mark and been reduced from a full arm cast to this stylish, half cast in basic black. It's a lot easier to get dressed and go about my daily life. Here's a link to what my
first cast was like. I am grateful for all the help, love and support I have received from Paul, Rian and Mieka and all my other friends and family.
Now it's time to get outside and capture some vitamin D.
Hope you have a great weekend, too.
